More from Yalta

Even from the ship, we could see the domes of the beautiful mosque, which we then visited. It was quite interesting.
The next day, we should have gone to Sochi, Russia but when we got there, the pORT WAS CLOSED, and we turned around an headed back for Istanbul where we have been for the past two days. Guniz was with me yesterday, and we had a lovely visit, after so many years.
Today, we will head off for Kusadasi, then Sicily, Naples, and Rome!

Finally! The sculptures from Jedda, et al.

The other pictures are from Yalta, where I visited the Chekov House, and attended a concert. We passed an outdoor market along the way.

Still in Wadi Rum

Sorry, My "bookkeeping system seems to be seriously at fault; there is a different picture I wanted to send, but I keep getting the camels! The other one shown here, is a Bedouin tent.
I was very impressede by all the various rock formations and the designs within the stones, themselves.
In the meantime, we are now docked in Istanbul, and I am expecting Guniz to come aboard in the morning. I haven't seen her in years, and am quite excited by the prospect!

Jordan; Wadi Rum

Sorry; I was looking for the photo I took in Jedda of the outdoor sculptures, but I seem to have caught the same camels twice! Wadu Rum was extremely interesting due to the exciting rock formations and the pictographs (ancient) on the stones. It is quite similar to the rock formations that abound near Petra.

I have completely forgotten everything from the past two weeks, because so much has happened! Today, we were supposed to land in Sochi, Russia, but the Russians closed the Port and we had to turn around and head for Istanbul, where I will meet with Guniz,on the 10th, who used to work at the Fdtn. with Marcel.
I will attempt to send a few more pictures, but I don't have the patience needed to rehash all that has happened.

Marilyn, Dick's friend

I'm still here!

These pictures were taken the day we went to Jeddah: in the camel market and then along a wonderful promenade with beautiful outdoor sculptures. Finally at the Captain's Party in his quarters,(actually in his chair!) and on the Bridge.
